Hadith Number Seven

Hazrat Um Salmah R.A. reports that Rasulullah Sal’am said: “Whosoever puts on his ihraam for an umrah from Baitul Muqaddas, shall be forgiven’.

This Hadith speaks for itself. One Tabi’iyya, (A Muslim woman who saw the Prophet Sal’am). Hazrat Um Hakeem R.A. hearing this hadith from hazrat Um Salmah R.A. undertook a special journey to Baitul Muqaddas to put on her ihraam there, for an umrah to Mecca. (Targheeb)

That was the spirit of those people that whenever they heard the commands and advices of Rasulullah Sal’am they immediately endeavored to put them into action, according to their means. They never cared about the hardship they had to undergo.

A story of Shaikh Shibli (The great saint)

I wish to end this chapter with a story related by the author of ‘Ithaaf’.

Once one of the mureeds of Sheikh Shilbi; the great saint; came to visit him after having performed Haj. The Sheikh asked him some questions. The mureed continues the story:

The Sheikh asked me: “Did you make a determined niyah for Haj?”

I replied: “Yes I made a firm intention for performing Haj.”

Sheikh: “Together with having made a firm intention for Haj; did you also have a firm niyah of forever giving up doing all those things you did since you were born that are opposed to the spirit of Haj?”

The Trash-Heaps of Pretentiousness

The vim and vigor of the worship [ibadat] is dependent on the worship being done with full respect and regard. Mualana Manzoor Ahmed Nuamani rahmatullah illah used to say that after Holy Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam’s generation the biggest disease that erupted in the masses was that the worship of those people was left for pretension only. Worship is which is done with utter mindfulness of Allah. However, when it is  only done as a mere ritual, then even if salah is made then too no change appears, if not read then too no difference. Did Umrah to the house of Allah, but witnessed no change in life; just the same as having not performed it at all. The quintessence of spirit did not change. And how is this possible? How is this possible that we perform acts of worship and they do not reflect in our lives?

WHAT TO DO DURING I’TIKAF

The Mu’takif should engage himself in lbadat to the best of his ability. Nafl Salat, Tilawat, Durood, Istighfar and permanent Thikr in general should be the Mu’takifs occupations throughout the duration of his I’tikaf.

When the Mu’takif speaks, he must speak only what is virtue or what is necessary.

The Mutakif should not do anything which conflicts with the spirit of I’tikaf. He should guard his heart, mind, ears, eyes and limbs against all evil, thus deriving maximum benefit from his seclusion in the Musjid.

The Mu’takif is the guest of Allah. He should, therefore, be careful of his behaviour in the House of Allah.

097 Power (Rukuh 01) (Ayats 01-05)

With the name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Very-Merciful.

[97:1] We have sent it (the Qur‘ān) down in the Night of Qadr.

[97:2] And what may let you know what the Night of Qadr is?

[97:3] The Night of Qadr is much better than one thousand months.

THE SECOND KIND OF REVELATION PROVED BY THE HOLY QURAN (Part 12)

The Holy Quran has summarized the various kinds of revelation in the following words:

“And it is not possible for a human being that Allah should speak to him, except by way of revelation, or from behind a curtain, or that He should send a messenger and he reveals by His leave what He wills.” (42:51)

Now, out of these thee modes, the revelation of the Holy Quran was carried out through the third one, namely, through an angel who is identified in the verse by the word, ‘messenger’. It is clearly settled by some other verses:
