Duas, Remedies from Holy Quran

Allah is the One who created the heavens and the earth and sent down water from the sky, then brought forth with it sustenance for you from the produce, and subjugated for you the ships, so that they may sail in the sea with His command, and subjugated for you the rivers;

Madinah – The city of the Prophet

Akhlaq & Spirituality, Dawah & Tabligh, Hadith & Seerah, History & Biography

Friends have invited me to give a talk on Madinah, describing what I saw there, and I have readily agreed. As a Persian poet has said: “To talk of the beloved is no less pleasant than to meet him.”

I do not know when I first heard of Makkah and Madinah. Like all Muslim children, I was brought up in an environment in which Hijaz (Arabia) and Makkah and Madinah were household words. I, distinctly, remember people saying Makkah, Madinah together as if these were the same. When they took the name of one of them, they, generally, mentioned that of the other as well. I, thus, came to imagine that Makkah and Madinah were not two different places, but one, and learnt to appreciate the difference only as I grew up. It, then, became clear that these were two different towns separated from each other by over 300 kilometers.

67) Bringing Loss to the Bequest

Beliefs & Practices, Major Sins

Allah Most High, says,

{After payment of legacies and debts: so that no loss is caused (to any).} (An-Nisa’: 12)

This means that when someone brings loss to heirs by claiming that he is indebted to such and such.

Allah the Almighty says,

{Thus is it ordained by Allah, and Allah is All-Knowing, Most Forbearing. Those are limits set by Allah: those who obey Allah and his Messenger will be admitted to gardens with rivers flowing beneath, to abide therein (forever) and that will be the supreme achievement. But those who disobey Allah and his Messenger and transgress his limits will be admitted to a fire, to abide therein: and they shall have a humiliating punishment.} (An-Nisa’: 12-14)

THE OBEDIENCE OF THE MESSENGER

Chapter 1, Hadith & Seerah, The Authority of Sunnah

It is in this background that the Holy Quran insists repeatedly on ‘the obedience of the Prophet’ so much so that it is mentioned side by side with, the obedience of Allah,

Say, ‘Obey Allah and the Messenger but if they turn their backs Allah loves not the disbelievers’.

And obey Allah and the Messenger so that you may be blessed. (3:132)

O those who believe, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. (4:59)

And obey Allah and obey the Messenger and beware. (5:92)
