Hadith Number Eight

Hazrat Aa’isha R.A. says: ‘I very much wanted to enter the Ka’ba to perform salaat inside it. Rasulullah Sal’am then took me by the hand and said: ‘Perform the salaat you desire in this hateem for verily your people, the Quraish left this section of the Ka’ba outside it when they rebuilt the Ka’ba.’

Construction of The Holy Kaaba

The Holy Ka’ba had been re-erected quite a few time. About some of these times the ulama are agreed whereas there is some doubt about its erection at other times. For those interested in the historical issue of the Ka’ba’s erection see my Arabic commentary on Mu’atta Imaam Maalik called Awjaz al Massalik. A short synopsis of what is written there follows here:

1. The well know accepted view of the ulama is that it was originally erected by the angels about two thousand years prior to the creation of Hazrat Aadam A.S. some ulama even state that this was not the first time the Ka’ba was built. The first time was when Allah Himself caused it to be with His command; the angels had no part in its erection.

58) Slaughtering in Other Than Allah’s Name

Such as slaughtering in the name of Satan, an idol, or in the name of a sheikh. Allah, the Almighty has said,

{Eat not of what the name of Allah has not been mentioned over.} (Al-An’am: 121)

Concerning this verse, Ibn ‘ Abbas said, “What is meant is that the dead animals and that which killed by strangling. All these types are included in the verse of Al-Ma’idah (5:3). Al-Kalbi said, what is meant is that over which the name of Allah was not mentioned and that which is slaughtered to other than Allah’s name. `Ata’ said, “Allah prohibited animals which were slaughtered by the people of Quraish for their idols.

54) Harming the Servants of Allah

Allah the Almighty has said,

{And those who annoy believing men and women undeservedly, bear (on themselves) a calumny and a glaring sin.} (Al-Ahzahb: 58)

Allah also said,

{And lower thy wing to the believers who follow thee.} (Ash-Shu’ara’: 216)

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said,

“Allah said (in a Qudsi hadith), “He who is hostile to a friend of Mine, I declare war against. In another narration, “Then I apprise him with a war.” (Bukhari)

In another hadith, it is reported that,

51) Overburdening and Arrogance against others

This includes overbearing the weak, the male slave, the female slave, the wife and the beast. Allah, the Almighty ordered us to deal in kindness towards these varieties. He said,

{Serve Allah and join not any partners with Him, and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need, neighbors who are of kin, neighbors who are strangers, the companion by your side, the way-fairer( ye meet) and what your right hands possess: for Allah loveth not the arrogant, the vainglorious} (An-Nisa’: 36)

Concerning Allah’s saying,

{Serve Allah, and join not any partners with Him}

Winter or Qureysh (Rukuh 01) (Ayats 01-04)

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

With the name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Very-Merciful.

لإِيلافِ قُرَيْشٍ (1)

[106:1] Because of the familiarity of the Quraish,

إِيلافِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ الشِّتَاءِ وَالصَّيْفِ (2)

[106:2] that is, their familiarity with the trips of winter and summer,

فَلْيَعْبُدُوا رَبَّ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ (3)

[106:3] they must worship the Lord of this House,

الَّذِي أَطْعَمَهُمْ مِنْ جُوعٍ وَآمَنَهُمْ مِنْ خَوْفٍ (4)

[106:4] who gave them food against hunger, and gave them security against fear.
