Belief in pre-destination is also an article of faith

Hadrat Abu Khizamah (Radi Allaahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated on the authority of his father, who said, “I asked the Messenger of ALLAH, “What have you to say about incantation and charms to which we resort to in relieving our pains and ailments and about medicines which we use during illness as also the devices that we employ for our protection. Do these repel the Divine Decree? The Apostle of ALLAH replied, “All these things are also by Divine Decree.” [Musnad Ahmad, Tirmizi, Ibn-e-Majah, Ma’arif-ul-Hadis]

Hadith Number Eight

Hazrat Ibn Umar R.A. report that Rasulullah Sal’am said: “When you meet a Hajji (on his way home) then greet him, shake hands with him and ask him to beg forgiveness of Allah on your behalf before he enters his home, for his prayer for forgiveness is accepted since he is forgiven by Allah for his sins.”

Another Hadith explains the same point. Rasulullah Sal’am is reported to have said: “The Mujaahid (fighter in the way of Allah) and the Hajji are members of Allah’s deputation. Whatever the beseech of Allah, is granted to them and whatever they beg of Him, they receive.”

The Sign of Allah Being There In Our Lives

Moreover, the sign of Allah being there in our lives is that come what may, first and foremost the attention goes onto Him alone. Like a child who gets hurts while playing round the avenue and cries out for his mother (although his mother is nowhere near him at the spot). But this is because it is subscribed there in his heart that my safe haven is my mother. Likewise, a Momin too immediately calls out onto Allah, goes in Sajdah, rings the call and makes a connection. That is also what the customs of our predecessors portray that where they heard lightening and thunder strike, they used to assemble in the masjids. Where they foresaw a mishap, they went into prostration. Where they had a storm in their lives they started knocking at the door of their merciful Lord.

Chapter 09 DOUBTS & OBJECTIONS ON TAQLEED Part 04

A Saying of Sayyidina Ibn Mas’ood

Sayyidina Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood’s saying is also cited often against taqleed:

“Let no one follow another in his religion in such a way that if he believes, he too believes, and if he disbelieves, he too disbelieves.”

Obviously, no one permits taqleed of this kind. His words are very clear that he does not tolerate taqleed in belief, and we have also repeated that often. But, as for taqleed of the predecessors to learn injunctions of religion, Sayyidina Ibn Mas’ood has said:
