Halq or Qasar Wajib of the 10th ZilHijja

After offering sacrifice it is Wajib to have your head shaven or your hair cut equal in length to a joint of a finger (about one inch). But it is not necessary to be done today. It may be done at any time upto the 12th of Zilhijja but you will remain under the restrictions of Ihram whatever length of time you may pass until you have your head shaven or your hair cut. In case you have your head shaven or your hair cut on the 10th of Zilhijja you will be relieved from Ihram formalities. Now, wearing sewn clothes, using perfumes, pruning nails and having your hair cut, all these things become lawful for you, but your enjoying a sexual intercourse with your wife will not be lawful until you are relieved from the obligation of Tawaf-e-Ziyarat i.e. Tawaf-e-
Fardh.

Ayah Number Two

“For Hajj are the months well known, if anyone undertakes that duty therein let there be no obscenity, no wickedness, nor wrangling in the Hajj. And whatever good you do, be sure Allah knoweth it.”

In this verse the word ‘Rafath’ is used, meaning obscene speech. This may be of two different kinds. Firstly there is more strongly prohibited. Secondly there is that form which under normal circumstances may be allowed, but during Hajj (ihraam) becomes prohibited, for example in the case of love talk with one’s wife.

His noble habits regarding perfumes

He liked aromatic things and perfume and used them profusely. He also recommended their use to others. [Nashrut-Tib]

The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) is also reported to have used perfumes in the late night. On waking up he would perform wudu after relieving himself and would then apply perfume on his clothing. If perfume was presented to him he would never refuse it. He considered it undesirable to refuse any sweet smelling thing. [Shamail-e-Tirmizi]

He liked the smell of basil (Raihan) very much and forbade refusal to accept it. [Shamail-e-Tirmiz]
