  • Rabbana ighfir lee waliwalidayya walilmumineena yawma yaqoomu alhisabu

“O our Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and (all) Believers, on the Day that the Reckoning will be established!” (Qur’aan: 14:41)

This is a dua made by Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh). He had offered this dua for protection from Hellfire. This is an extraordinary dua where Ibrahim (pbuh) is not only asking for him and his parents, but for all the believers. This should be an example for us to include other believers in our duas so that Allah (SWT) grants His mercy to all Muslims.

My belief regarding Nabi (sallAllaahu alaihi wasallam) is that he is not merely a human being, in fact, he is the best and the leader of the human species. He is not merely an offspring of Hadhrat Adam (alaihi salaam), he is, in fact, the best of all the children of Hadhrat Adam (alaihi salaam) – sallAllaahu alaihi wasallam – Nabi (sallAllaahu alaihi wasallam) himself said:
“I will be the leader of the children of Adam on the day of Qiyaamah.”
The fact that he (sallAllaahu alaihi wasallam) is the best of man and humankind is not only a matter of honour and pride for himself, in fact, his being from amongst the human nation is a matter of envy for the angels.

Legitimate Offspring

Bahishti Zewar, Fiqh, Part 4-Nikah (Marriage) in Islam

1. When a married woman gives birth to a child, that child will be attributed to her husband. It is not permissible to say that this child is not her husband’s and that it is someone else’s merely on a doubt or suspicion. It is also not permissible to refer to such a child as being illegitimate. In an Islamic state, such a slanderer will be whipped.

2. The minimum period of pregnancy is six months and the maximum period is two years. In other words, a baby remains in the womb of a woman for a minimum period of six months. It cannot be born before this period. The maximum period it can remain in the womb is two years and not more than this.

69) Spying on the Muslims and Revealing their Weaknesses

Beliefs & Practices, Major Sins

Included in this subject is the hadith of Hatib Ibn Abi Balta’ah (who sent a secret letter telling of the Muslims military plans to his relatives in Mecca in hopes that they would not get hurt), ‘Umar (Allah be well pleased with him) wanted to kill him for what he had done, but the Prophet (pbuh) forbade ‘Umar to, as Hatib had fought at Badr (and by accepting Hatib’s excuse, left nothing for any Muslim to criticize.
