Financing the Jihad Part 2

The drive for funds ought not to be pursued with undignified and devious means. Such abominable practices will harm the reputation of the Jihad and the Mujahideen enormously and such a practice would be counterproductive.

The definition of dignity could not be rigidly defined. Thus it should be left to different areas, to use the dignified means according to their own environment and circumstances. Some devotees of Allah Ta`ala are so pious and generous that they consider such fund raising efforts in the Path of Allah Ta`ala, with great respect and gratitude. To knock on such people’s door could not be defined as “undignified”. Allah’s Last Rasool SallalLahu-`alayhi Wasallam himself has announced for the contribution to the Jihad resources, in the Masjid ul Nabawi and Allah’s Last Rasool SallalLahu-`alayhi Wasallam has also spread the sheet on the ground.

40 Prayers In Madinah

Q. “Is it mandatory, according to Shariah, to complete 40 prayers in Masjid-i-Nabawi when one visit Madinah Munawwarah?”
(Ibid)

A. No, it is not mandatory. Even the visit of Madinah Munawwarah is not mandatory, nor is it a part of Hajj.

However, the visit of Madinah is very desirable, its visitor deserves much reward in the Hereafter and the person who can
afford this visit should not make himself devoide of this reward, yet it is not as obligatory as the Hajj itself.

When the visit of Madinah itself is not mandatory how can it be said that performing 40 prayers is mandatory?

Misuse Of Loud Speaker

Q. Admittedly, the use of Loudspeakers installed outside the Masjid is of benefit to the Ummah when Azan is called for prayers five times a day. However, I have the following questions in respect of the use of these outside Loudspeakers:

1. Shouldn’t the volume of the Loudspeakers be restricted or controlled so as to reach a reasonable area around the particular Masjid? In the area surrounding my place of residence, there are five Masajid, two of which are within a one hundred yard radius. For Azan at Fajr and Isha, it seems that the Loudspeaker might as well be inside my house for
the volume is so high windows would shatter if the house was sealed shut.

The Time Of Salah For Women

Q. “Is it necessary for a women to wait for call of Azan before she can offer her prayers (salah) or can she perform her prayers as soon as the time for that particular prayer becomes due?”. (Ibid)

A. The ladies need not wait for the call of Azan. They can offer their prayers soon after they are sure that the time for a particular salah has arrived, no matter whether the Call of Azan has been pronounced in the Masjid or not. The Holy Qur’an says,

“Surely, the Salah for the Muslims is an obligation related with time.”

Blessed places in Makkah

It is a fact that Makkah is a blessed city. Every inch and every rock or bit of sand is blessed. We have already mentioned those places of special blessing. Now there are a few more to which attention should be drawn.

1. Firstly there is a place where the house of Hazrat Khadija R.A. used to be; and where Hazrat Fatima Zahraa R.A. was born; and where all the children of Rasulullah Sal’am were born except Hazrat Ibrahim A.S. up to the Hijrat Rasulullah Sal’am live here. The Ulama are of the opinion that second to the Holy Masjid, this place is the most virtuous in Makkah.

Hadith Number Six

Hazrat Anas bin Maalik R.A. reports that Rasulullah Sal’am said: ‘The salaat which a person performs in his house is one salaat; and his salaat in the local masjid is equal to 25 salaats: and his salaat in the Jaame Masjid where the people gather is rewarded to the extent of five hundred salaats; and his salaat in the mosque of Jerusalem, Masjidul Aqsaa is rewarded to the extent of fifty thousand salaats: and his salaat in my mosque-Masjidul Nabawi in the Holy Mosque of Makkah is rewarded to the extent of one hundred thousand salaats’
The fact that salaat in the Holy Mosque of Makkah is rewarded up to one hundred thousand times be borne out by many ahaadith.

Waqof-e-Arafat

The literal meaning of Waqof is to stay. The stay at Arafat for a while from the time after Zuhr (Midday) on the 9th of Zilhijja up to the daybreak (on the 10th) is the basic fundamental of Hajj. It is Wajib to stay at Arafat till sunset of the 9th. It is Mustahab to take a bath before moon but if it is difficult, making an ablution only will also suffice. Being so prepared a pilgrim should go to Masjid-e-Namira. Here the Imam-ul-Muslimin (The leader i.e., ruler of the Muslims) or his vicegerent will deliver the 2nd Khutba of Hajj which is Sunnat, not Wajib. He will then lead the congregation of Zuhr and Asr prayers taking them togather in the time of Zuhr. In this case two Sunnat prayers of Zuhr will be abandoned.
Rule Of Action
On the day of Arafa in Arafat, this combining of Zuhr and Asr prayers togather in the time of Zuhr is Sunnat or Mustahab but this is subject to the condition that you are wearing the Ihram of Hajj and the prayers are performed in the leadership of Imam-
ul-Muslimin or his vicegerent. Firstly Zuhr and then Asr prayers are to be performed separately.

The Woman who only spoke Quran

An elderly Arab lady was sitting alone at the trunk of a tree and Abdullah bin Mubarak also happened to pass that way. Seeing this lady in distress, he spoke to her. The discussion is recorded as follows:

Abdullah bin Mubarak: Asalamu alaykum wa Rahmatullah.

The lady: The word from a merciful Lord is peace [Ya Sin 36/58]. She meant that the reply of salaam is from Allah, Most High, Himself. She said further: Those whom Allah sendeth astray, there is no guide for them. [Araaf 7/186]. She meant that she had lost her way.

Hadith Number Six

Hazrat Sahl bins Sa’ad R.A. reports that Rasulullah (Salallaho Alaihi Wassallam) said:
“when a Muslim shouts Labbaik, then verily every stone, tree and all the ground to his right and to his left recites the same, and this continues till that cry reaches the end of the earth”.

The recitation of the cry ‘Labbaik’ is the symbol and emblem of the Hajj. This is borne out by many Ahaadith. In Knaz we find a report that when Moosa A.S used to recite Labbaik, Allah used to reply: “Labbaik O Moosa: (Kanz). It is Allah’s mercy that not only the Hajji’s Labbaik, but his every action earns for him great reward.

The Ways of Our Beloved Prophet Sallallahu Alayhe Wa Sallam

Now the stimulant for broaching on this intent is very easy and that being: to be always on the stance of asking for something or the other from Allah. Whenever you see somebody virtuous then ask Allah to make you as pious too. Whenever you see somebody in a calamity then ask Allah to save you from it.

Once a Companion radhiallahu anhu asked Rasullallah sallallahu alayhe wa sallam , “O Messenger of Allah! What should I do if there is predicament of rizk and debt?”
