Hadith Number Three

Ibn Hazrat Abbaas R.A. reports that Rasulullah Sal’am said: ‘The Hajarul Aswad descended from paradise, having been white in color than milk. The sins of the sons of Men caused it to become Black’.

This hadith tell us that because men touched it with sinful hands, the effect of their sins caused blackness to come on the stone. Here one should take careful not; if a stone became black through a touch, what will be the position of those hearts of such people living in continuous sin? According to one hadith; “When a man commits a sin, a black mark comes on his heart. If he repents, it is removed; when he sins again, another black mark forms. And so it continues until the whole heart becomes black,” The Qur’aan speaks about this in the following verse: ‘but no means.” “By on their hearts is a stain of the (ill) which they do”.

51) Overburdening and Arrogance against others

This includes overbearing the weak, the male slave, the female slave, the wife and the beast. Allah, the Almighty ordered us to deal in kindness towards these varieties. He said,

{Serve Allah and join not any partners with Him, and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need, neighbors who are of kin, neighbors who are strangers, the companion by your side, the way-fairer( ye meet) and what your right hands possess: for Allah loveth not the arrogant, the vainglorious} (An-Nisa’: 36)

Concerning Allah’s saying,

{Serve Allah, and join not any partners with Him}

Allah Most High says,

{O ye that believe! Betray not the trust of Allah and the Messenger, nor misappropriate knowingly things entrusted to you.} (Al-anfal: 27)

Al-Wahidi (may Allah bestow mercy on him) said, “This verse is revealed concerning Abu Lubabah who was sent by the Prophet (pbuh) to the Jews of Banu Quraizah during the siege of Muslims to their land. The Jews said to Abu Lubabah, these families are living among the Jews, what do you say concerning the submission to the judgment of sai’d. Abu Lubabah then pointed at his throat meaning that Sa’d would sentence you to be slaughtered. Abu Lubabah said, “I have not moved from my place until I realized that I betrayed Allah and His Messenger.”

WRITTEN DIRECTIVES TO OTHER GOVERNORS

Similarly, when the Holy Prophet (SAWS) appointed some of his companions as governors of different provinces he used to dictate to them similar documents as his directives which they could follow in performing their duties as rulers or as judges. When he appointed Abu Huraira and Ala’ibn al Hazrami as his envoy to the Zoroastrians of Hajar, he dictated to them a directive containing certain rules of Shari’ah about Zakah and Ushr (Ibn Saad).

Likewise, when he sent Mu’az ibn Jabal and Malik ibn Murarah to Yemen, he gave them a document dictated by him which contained certain rules of Shari’ah (Ibn Saad).
