Hadith Number Three

Hazrat Ibn Abaas R.A. said: “Whoever has enough money to perform Hajj and does not do so, or enough wealth making Zakaat obligatory on him, and he does not give it, he shall surely at the time of his death beg to be sent back to the world.”

The fact that they shall beg to be returned to this earth is a reference to the verse I n Surah Mu’minoon which is thus: “In falsehood and deception will the be until when death comes to one of them, he says: “O My Lord, send me back to life, in order that I may work righteously in the thing I neglected.’ By no mean! But is a word he says.” Before them is a partition till the day they are raised up.”
(Surah 23 verse 99 and 100)

1. GOOD INTENTION

Intention is an alchemic prescription that can turn base dirt into noble gold. The hadith says “All actions depends upon intentions.” It is sometimes interpreted to mean that good intentions justify bad deeds too and turn sins meritorious. This is entirely wrong. Sin is always a sin no matter how noble the intention may be. For instance if someone breaks into a house to steal with the intention of giving away as alms whatever he would steal would be a thief deserving the prescribed punishment. His good intentions would not earn him any merit nor would his sin be pardoned.

7) Not Performing The Hajj When Able to

Allah, the Most High, says,

Pilgrimage thereto is a duty, men owe to Allah those who can afford the journey; but if any deny faith, Allah stands not in need of any of his creatures.” (Al-Imran: 97)

The Prophet (pbuh) said,

“Whoever can afford this journey to the sacred House, by provision and transportation and he does not make the pilgrimage, there is no blame if he dies as a Jew or a Christian. This is because Allah says, “Pilgrimage thereto is a duty men owe to Allah -those who can afford the journey.” (Tirmidhi)
