Evil Disguised in Goodness

Evil is being presented before us as a thing of marvel and delight. Indecency is presented in a striking manner and we are told that it is freedom, it is entertainment, it is happiness. Love flourishes due to this and comfort is found in it.

Alas! Nothing of this is true! In fact it is due to this only that homes are broken, children get ruined, Haya goes away, youth gets strained by fulfilment of the lustful desires, chastity of daughters gets lost, sons cuts off relations from the fathers, and daughters do not remain loyal to their own mothers. The family system gets broken into pieces.

THE TREATMENT (Part 05)

8. READING THE INCIDENTS OF THE AMBIYA AND THE PIOUS

Amongst those things which help man control his desires is to read and ponder over the incidents of our pious predecessors – how they controlled their desires and realised the presence of Allah Ta’ala. Consider, for example, the incident of the Nabi of Allah, Yousuf (alayhis salaam). It is an amazing and strange incident. All the means and requirements of temptation which had not gathered for anyone before, gathered for Yousuf (alayhis salaam) . He was an extremely handsome young unmarried slave. She (Zuleikha) was a lady of beauty and dignity. Yousuf (alayhis salaam) was living in her house, etc. Despite all this Yousuf (alayhis salaam) preferred the Pleasure and Fear of Allah Ta’ala over all these temptations. He chose the prison instead of fornication. Allah Ta’ala says: “He (Yousuf alaihis salâm) said: “The prison is more beloved to me than that towards which they call me.” (Sura Yousuf, ayah 33)

Hadith Number Ten

Hazrat Ibn Abbaas R.A. reports that Rasulullah Sal’am said to Makkah: “What a wonderful city you are and how I love you. Had my people not forced me out of you, I would never have settled in any other city save you.”

As a result of the contents of this hadith as well as those expounding the increased reward for righteous deeds in Makkah, the majority of ulama believe that Makkah is the most virtuous (afdhal) of all towns, and to stay there permanently or in a temporary as capacity, is most virtuous. Who would not like to be able to settle there when one salaat is rewarded one hundred thousand times? Yet in spite of all this many of our saintly elders did not advocate residence in Makkah (for longer than necessary).

Entrance In To The Holy City Of Makkah

Rule Of Action
Taking a bath before entering the Holy place of Mecca is a tradition of the Holy Prophet. This tradition can stand followed if, nowadays, a person takes a bath on taking a start from Jedda because nowadays, on account of motor vehicles this distance is covered in a very short time. On entering Mecca he should at first look after his luggage and manage his lodging so that his mind does not remain attached therewith. Thereafter he should come in ‘Masjid-e-Haram.

Entrance In To The Precincts Of Haram

Entrance in to the precincts of Haram is, in fact, the rarely allowed admission into the magnificent sanctuary of the Lord of Glory, the Sublime. One should enter these precincts with careful vital feelings of His megnificence and dignity. The preceding Prophets (peace be on them) and virtuous eminent people in the past have accustomed to walk from here onward bare-footed. If it was not from ‘Zee-Tuwa’, a place outside the city of Mecca, or at the most on entering the Holy city of Mecca (Hayatul Qulob of Makhdom Hashim Sindi). But nowadays, we generally travel by motor vehicles and a dropping of our own choice is not possible. Moreover, our luggage in the bus certainly keeps our mind attached to it. Hence we enter the Haram while travelling in a motor vehicle but at the time of entrance one should be particular about repeating Talbiya again and again and about craving mercy of Allah with utmost expression of humiliation.

53) Hurting or Reviling Muslims

Allah, the Almighty said,

{And those who annoy believing men and women undeservedly, bear (on themselves) a calumny and a glaring sin.} (Al-Ahzab: 58)

{O ye who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others: it may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): nor let some women laugh at others: it may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): nor defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive) nick names: ill-seeming is a name connecting wickedness, (to be used of one) after he has believed: and those who do not desist are (indeed) doing wrong.} (Al-Hujurat: 11)

The benefactor of mankind’s excellent treatment of his wives

ALLAH (magnified be His Glory) had provided the Holy
Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) with special ways and means to enable him
to achieve the objectives of both his public and family life. Accordingly there
were two groups who served to transmit methodically and scrupulously the
details of every aspect of the Prophet’s (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) life for
the guidance and instruction of the mankind.
