Hadrat Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet recited in the two rak’ahs of Fajr Salaah (sunnah), surah al-Kafirun (CIX) and surah al-lkhlâS (CXII), In other tradition it has been reported that the Messenger of ALLAH said: How excellent these two surahs are that they are recited in Fajr Salaah (sunnah).

In some traditions recitation of other surahs (by the Prophet) has been reported. The Messenger of ALLAH (SallAllahu Ataihi Wa Sallam) used to recite in Fajr Salaah:

In the Musnad of Ahmed, there is a tradition from Umm Salama (Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anha) that ALLAH’s Messsenger (SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) taught the following phrases to his daughter Hadrat Fatimah (Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anha) when she came to ask him for a servant. He said, When you go to bed, say the following phrases. Subhan ALLAH (Glory be to ALLAH) – 33 times Alhamdu Lillah (Praise be to ALLAH ) – 33 times Allahu Akbar (ALLAH is most great) – 34 times And say once:  Read more... There is a verse of the ‘Holy Quran’
“And pilgrimage to the house is a duty unto Allah for mankind, for him who can afford the journey thereunto. And whosever disbelieves (i.e. he does not come to the house despite his being able to do so) then (he does Harm only to himself) Allah stands not in need of any of his creatures.” (3 : 97)
To afford journey to that House (i.e. the Ka’ba) means that apart from one’s day-to-day necessities of life one has sufficient funds to meet all the expenses of journey to and from the house of Allah at Mecca as well as the Expenses during the period of one’s stay there. Moreover, one should be able to manage the Wajib (obligatory) maintenance of one’s dependants upto one’s return from the journey. There are severe warnings in the ‘Holy Quran’ and ‘Hadith’ for a man who does not perform the ‘Hajj’ Pilgrimage despite his being capable as mentioned above.  Read more... When he would get his head shaved, he would get the whole of it shaved or retain the hair on the whole head. He did not do so that a part of it was shaved and the remaining part was left unshaved. [Zadul Ma’ad]

Hadrat lbn Abbas (Radi Allaahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) used to trim the moustache. [Zadul Ma’ad]

In a number of traditions, Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) has commanded growing of beard and has impressed the trimming of moustache. Included in this subject is the hadith of Hatib Ibn Abi Balta’ah (who sent a secret letter telling of the Muslims military plans to his relatives in Mecca in hopes that they would not get hurt), ‘Umar (Allah be well pleased with him) wanted to kill him for what he had done, but the Prophet (pbuh) forbade ‘Umar to, as Hatib had fought at Badr (and by accepting Hatib’s excuse, left nothing for any Muslim to criticize. Dhikr i.e. mental or verbal remembrance of Allah is so consoling, pleasant and easy form of worship that one can perform it continuously at all times and with great benefit, Allah has enjoined His Dhikr in the Quran.

Obviously dhikr does not benefit Allah, Who has no need of in the benefit is for Allah’s bondsmen since dhikr strengthens the bond between Allah and His bondsmen, is food for the soul which invigorates it. And with an invigorated soul it becomes easy to overcome one’s base instincts and to vanquish the Devil. Thus one is able more easily to avoid sins and the good deeds increase.  Read more... Allah the Almighty has said,

{And those who annoy believing men and women undeservedly, bear (on themselves) a calumny and a glaring sin.} (Al-Ahzahb: 58)

Allah also said,

{And lower thy wing to the believers who follow thee.} (Ash-Shu’ara’: 216)

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said,

“Allah said (in a Qudsi hadith), “He who is hostile to a friend of Mine, I declare war against. In another narration, “Then I apprise him with a war.” (Bukhari)

In the two Sahihs, it is reported that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said,

“By Allah, he does not believe. By Allah, he does not believe. By Allah, he does not believe.” Someone asked, “Whom, O Messenger of Allah? And he said, “He whose neighbor is not safe from his evil conduct.” (Bukhari)

In another narration, it is reported that,

“The one whose neighbor is not safe from his evil conduct will not enter Paradise.” (Muslim)

This includes overbearing the weak, the male slave, the female slave, the wife and the beast. Allah, the Almighty ordered us to deal in kindness towards these varieties. He said,

{Serve Allah and join not any partners with Him, and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need, neighbors who are of kin, neighbors who are strangers, the companion by your side, the way-fairer( ye meet) and what your right hands possess: for Allah loveth not the arrogant, the vainglorious} (An-Nisa’: 36)

Concerning Allah’s saying,

Allah, Most High says,

{And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge, for surely the hearing, the sight, the learnt all of those shall be questioned of.}

(Al-Isra’: 36)

Elaborating on the above Ayah Al-Wahidi reported Al-Kalbi’s commentary that idle curiosity and undocumented reports are condemned. Al-Wahidi said, we should be called to accounted for the exercise of every faculty that has been given to us.
