1. GOOD INTENTION

Intention is an alchemic prescription that can turn base dirt into noble gold. The hadith says “All actions depends upon intentions.” It is sometimes interpreted to mean that good intentions justify bad deeds too and turn sins meritorious. This is entirely wrong. Sin is always a sin no matter how noble the intention may be. For instance if someone breaks into a house to steal with the intention of giving away as alms whatever he would steal would be a thief deserving the prescribed punishment. His good intentions would not earn him any merit nor would his sin be pardoned.

SOME IMPORTANT POINTS

Only those deeds have been discussed here that do not involve any significant labour or difficulty but earn much merit and reward. The purpose is to awaken in the hearts of the readers the urge to follow and observe them and increase their store of goodness for the Afterlife. However, it is necessary to remember the following points when reading this book:

51) Overburdening and Arrogance against others

This includes overbearing the weak, the male slave, the female slave, the wife and the beast. Allah, the Almighty ordered us to deal in kindness towards these varieties. He said,

{Serve Allah and join not any partners with Him, and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need, neighbors who are of kin, neighbors who are strangers, the companion by your side, the way-fairer( ye meet) and what your right hands possess: for Allah loveth not the arrogant, the vainglorious} (An-Nisa’: 36)

Concerning Allah’s saying,

{Serve Allah, and join not any partners with Him}

39) Breach of Faith

Allah Most High says,

{O ye that believe! Betray not the trust of Allah and the Messenger, nor misappropriate knowingly things entrusted to you.} (Al-anfal: 27)

Al-Wahidi (may Allah bestow mercy on him) said, “This verse is revealed concerning Abu Lubabah who was sent by the Prophet (pbuh) to the Jews of Banu Quraizah during the siege of Muslims to their land. The Jews said to Abu Lubabah, these families are living among the Jews, what do you say concerning the submission to the judgment of sai’d. Abu Lubabah then pointed at his throat meaning that Sa’d would sentence you to be slaughtered. Abu Lubabah said, “I have not moved from my place until I realized that I betrayed Allah and His Messenger.”

Business which is done in the morning is blessed

Hadith 1

Hazrat Aisha (Radiallahu Anha) said that Rasulullah [صلى الله عليه وسلم] said: “One should go out to seek sustenance and legitimate earning in the morning, for morning work is blessed and prosperous.”

Hadith 2

Hazrath Sakh’r ibn Wad’ah [radhiallaahu anhu] relates that Rasulullah [صلى الله عليه وسلم] supplicated: “O Allah bless the mornings of my people.” Whenever he despatched a small or big army, he dispatched it early in the morning. Hazrath Sakh’r was a merchant. He always dispatched his goods in the early part of the day and as such his business flourished and his wealth increased.
