Weakness of the Muslims

So my friends, Muslims have their own celebrations but because our education is not ours anymore, our media is not ours and as a result of the environments of which our children are now becoming a part, their thinking is not theirs any longer, and parents too do not give them that atmosphere at homes where their roots of Emaan would have strengthened, they would acquire a sense of religious honour and they would be able to discern as to what are our traditions, what really are our festivals, and what are our celebrations.

3. PRACTICE

The third way of preservation of the Sunnah was to bring it into practice.

The knowledge of Sunnah was not merely a theoretical knowledge, nor were the teachings of the Holy Prophet (SAWS) merely philosophical. They related to practical life. The Holy Prophet (SAWS) did not confine himself to giving lessons and sermons only; he also trained his companions practically. Whatever they learnt from the Holy Prophet (SAWS) they spared no effort to bring it into actual practice. Each companion was so enthusiastic in practicing the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (SAWS), that he tried his best to imitate even his personal habits.

Chapter 02 THE QUR’AN AND TAQLEED Part 2

“And when there comes to them any tiding, whether of peace or of fear (or war), they spread it abroad. If they had only reffered it to the Messenger and to those in authority among them, then those among them who can search the truth about it, would have known (how to dispose of) the matter.” (4:83)

The hypocrites in Madinah spread rumours concerning war and peace. Some simple Muslims fell into their trap and passed on to others whatever they heard. This created an atmosphere of uncertainty. The verse instructs Muslims not to do so but inform the ‘ulul amr’ of whatever they learn. The qualified among them would investigage and let them know the truth.

SUNNAH: THE SECOND SOURCE OF ISLAMIC LAW

The Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad has been accepted as an important source of Islamic law, next in importance only to the Holy Quran. This status of the sunnah has remained unchallenged and undisputed throughout the cenwries. There have been many differences among Muslims in their juristic bpinions, but the authority of the Holy Quran and the sunnah of the Holy Prophet was never denied by any jurist. Leaving aside some scattered individuals who separated themselves from the main stream of the Muslim population, nobody has ever refused to accept the sunnah of the Holy Prophet as a sacred source of the Islamic law.
