CIRCUMSTANCES IN WHICH GHUSAL IS MASNUN

Hadrat Abu Hurairah (Radi Allaahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said: “It is the duty of every Muslim to take bath once a week (i.e. on Friday), washing his head and body.” [Bukhari, Muslim, Marif -ul- Hadis]

Hadrat Samura bin Jundab (Radi Allaahu Ta’ala Anha) narrated that the Messenger of ALLAH said: If any one performs ablution on Friday, well and good; but if any one takes bath, bathing is more excellent. [Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Tirmizi, Marif -ul- Hadis]

Hadrat Abdullah bin Mas’ud (Radi Allaahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated that the Apostle of ALLAH (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, “On the day of resurrection, the feet of the son of Adam will not move away till he is questioned about five matters:

1. On what he spent his life;

2. In what he made his youth pass away;

3. Whence he acquired his property;

4. On what he spent it and

5. What he did regarding what he knew; [Tirmizi Ma’arif -ul- Hadis]

Concise and foremost counsels Part 3

Hadrat Abu Ayyub Ansari (Radi Allaahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated that a man came to the Messenger of ALLAH and requested him for some advice but that it should be brief (so that it may be easy for him to remember it). He said,

(Firstly) when you stand up for Salaah then say the Salaah just like a person who is about to bid farewell to everything and to say Good Bye to everybody (i.e. the Salaah should be like that of a person who is about to breathe his last). You should say every Salaah in the same manner,

Concise and foremost counsels Part 2

Hadrat Mu’az -bin- Jabal (Radi Allaahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated that the Messenger of ALLAH recommended ten things to me saying:

(1) Do not associate anything with ALLAH even if you are put to death;

(2) Do not be disobedient to your parents, even if they command you to quit your family and property;

(3) Do not deliberately neglect to observe a compulsorily prescribed Salaah, for one who deliberately neglects a comulsorily prescribed Salaah, will have ALLAH’s protection removed from him;

(4) Do not drink wine, it is the root cause of all evils (so it has been called mother of all evils);

Fear of ALLAH and piety leads to eminence and nearness

While seeing off Hadrat Mu’az bin Jabal after having appointed him as Qazi / Governor, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) gave him a few counsels and made bequests. He said to him:

O Mu’az! I may not be able to meet you after this year of my life…”

On hearing this Hadrat Mu’az began to weep due to shock of separation. The Messenger of ALLAH then turned his face from him and looking towards Madina said. (probably he himself was visibly moved and deeply impressed)

Belief in pre-destination is also an article of faith

Hadrat Abu Khizamah (Radi Allaahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated on the authority of his father, who said, “I asked the Messenger of ALLAH, “What have you to say about incantation and charms to which we resort to in relieving our pains and ailments and about medicines which we use during illness as also the devices that we employ for our protection. Do these repel the Divine Decree? The Apostle of ALLAH replied, “All these things are also by Divine Decree.” [Musnad Ahmad, Tirmizi, Ibn-e-Majah, Ma’arif-ul-Hadis]

67) Bringing Loss to the Bequest

Allah Most High, says,

{After payment of legacies and debts: so that no loss is caused (to any).} (An-Nisa’: 12)

This means that when someone brings loss to heirs by claiming that he is indebted to such and such.

Allah the Almighty says,

{Thus is it ordained by Allah, and Allah is All-Knowing, Most Forbearing. Those are limits set by Allah: those who obey Allah and his Messenger will be admitted to gardens with rivers flowing beneath, to abide therein (forever) and that will be the supreme achievement. But those who disobey Allah and his Messenger and transgress his limits will be admitted to a fire, to abide therein: and they shall have a humiliating punishment.} (An-Nisa’: 12-14)

65) Forgoing the Congregational Prayer to Pray Alone Without a Legal Excuse

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud related that the Prophet (pbuh) said,

“I have considered having a man lead people at prayer and going myself to those who stay back from attending the congregational prayer to bum their houses down upon them.

“If the people forgo the Friday Prayer, Allah will set a seal on their hearts for them to become heedless.”( Muslim)

“Whoever misses three Friday prayers without a legal excuse, Allah will set a seal on his heart.”( Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi)

“Whoever misses the Friday prayer without a (legal) excuse or a danger will be accounted amongst the hypocrites in a record that cannot be erased or altered.”( Ahmad)

63) Feeling Secure from Allah’s Devising

Allah, Most High says,

{Until, in the midst of their enjoyment of our gifts, on a sudden We called then to account, when lot They were plunged in despair!} (Al-An’am: 44)

This means that the punishment occurs suddenly while they are heedless. Al-Hasan said, whoever is blessed but unaware of Allah’s decision he is heedless, and whoever is afflicted but unaware of Allah’s trials is also heedless. Then he read the above Ayah and said, these people are put into devising as they got all what they need and then taken suddenly.
