Refraining from criticism

It is natural to be passionate, while dealing with the matters relating to the Jihad. But sometimes it boils over and leads to unfair and unjustified criticism of colleagues and other departments, such behaviour is counter productive and harmful to the Jihad.

DUA FOR ABUNDANCE IN SUSTENANCE (RIZQ)

A:

اللَّهُ لَطِيفٌ بِعِبَادِهِ يَرْزُقُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَهُوَ الْقَوِيُّ العَزِيزُ (42:19)

Allah is kind to His servants. He gives provision to whom He wills, and He is the Strong, the Mighty.

Significance: For progress in sustenance/Rizq, one should recite the above verse excessively after each Salaah.

B:

And whoever places his trust in Allah, He is sufficient for him. Surely Allah is to accomplish His purpose. Allah has set a measure for every thing.

Hadith Number Five

Hazrat Ibn Mas’ood R.A. relates that Rasulullah Sal’am said: ‘Follow up the Haj or the unrah (with each other) for verily they remove poverty and sin in the same manner that fire cleans away the dirt in iron, gold and silver’.

Hadith Number Nine

Hazrat Buraidah R.A reports that Rasulullah Sal’am said: “The expenses incurred during Hajj is like that incurred in Jihaad; rewarded seven hundred times.”

Once Rasulullah Sal’am said to Hazrat Aeyesha R.A. “The reward for you Umrah is determined by the amount spent on it.”
That is; the more one spends on it, the more shall be the reward.

In another it is stated: “to spend in Hajj is like spending in the way of Allah, for which reward is granted unto seven hundred times.’ (Kanz)

Hadith Number Four

“Hazrat Talhaa R.A. reports that Rasulullah (Salallaho Alaihi Wassallam) said: “Apart from the day of the battle of Bader there is no day on which the Shaytaan is seen more humiliated, more rejected. More depressed and more infuriated, than on the day of Arafaat, and indeed all that is only because of beholding the abundance of descending mercy (on that day) and Allah’s forgiveness of the great sins of the servants”. (Mishkaat)

Moderation in adornment

The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) at first used to arrange his hair without a parting. Later on used to part them. [Shamail -e-Tirmizi]

In another tradition, it occurs that he used to comb his hair every second day. [Nashrut Tib]. Yet in another tradition from Humaid bin Abdur Rahman it is reported that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) used to comb his hair occasionally. [Shamail-e-Tirmizi]

It has been related by Hadrat Anas that the hair of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) was neither very thick nor quite straight but were slightly curly and reached up to the lobes of his ears. [Shamail-e-Tirmizi]

27) Collecting Taxes

(The collector is the one who collects the taxes from sellers in the market in pre-Islamic times.)

Allah says,

{The blame is only against those who oppress men with wrongdoing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice: for such there will be a chastisement grievous.} (Ash-Shura: 42)

The tax collector is one of the closest supporters of the oppressors. Rather he may be of the oppressors.

He takes what is not lawful to him and gives it to those who do not deserve it. Hence, the Prophet declared,

Introduction

“O you who believe! Remember Allah abundantly. And glorify Him morning and evening.” [Al-Ahzaab 33: 41, 42]

Allah, the most Exalted, is addressing the believers asserting: remember Allah morn and eve and every possible time in between. This, essentially, is a prescription for gilding the entire life of a believer; entailing one lone thing for scores of others. Thus the line of attack, to wipe out all weaknesses and stumbling blocks from a believer’s life is subsequently being specified by Allah in these few words: remember Allah abundantly.

MISCELLANEOUS MASAIL

(1) Saumul-Wisal is Makrooh. Saumul Wisal is to fast the whole year including the forbidden days.

Saumul Wisal according to another authoritative version also means fasting continuously – day after day – throughout the year excepting the forbidden days.

(2) The best method of Nafl fasting is to fast every alternate day. However, due to the physical weakness of most people in this age, Auliya advise abstention from abundance of Nafl Saum.

(3) When fasting on the Day of Ashora (10th Muharram), it is Sunnat to add another day. Therefore, one should fast on either the 9th and 10th or the 10th and 11th Muharram.

MISWAAK

HISTORY OF THE MISWAAK

The Miswaak, a tree-twig, was in use for brushing and cleansing the teeth long before the advent of our Holy Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam). In fact the records of our Nabi Muhummad’s (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) Ahadith indicate that the Miswaak was the “Sunnah” or practice of all the Ambiyaa (Prophets of Allah)—Peace be upon them.

“Abu Ayyub (R) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: ‘Four things are amongst the practices of the Ambiyaa —circumcision, application of perfume, Miswaak and marriage’.” (AHMAD AND TIRMIZI)
